A Tapestry of Love

"Susan and I worked at the same mental health agency when we both lived in Alabama. We enjoyed having Saturday coffee at Starbucks-along with Theo. She was so generous with her time and her family. We went to Aretha's track meets and Susan was always the most enthusiastic. I had many messages from Susan's daughter-in-law, regarding Susan's final journey in life. Susan was a wonderful friend and she will be greatly missed. My prayers and best thoughts are with Aretha, Theo, John and Rebecca at this time."

"I met my Aunt Susan when I was a newlywed in 1978. Curtis and I were stationed in Ft Lewis, WA. Aunt Susan welcomed us when we came to stay in their home to stay with her and Uncle Theo. I will never forget the two years we spent together as a family. I thank God for auntie. At the age of 21, and a newlywed was great hanging with my aunt Susan was new and exciting times for me and Curt. She taught me so much about family and how to cook. She and Uncle Theo treated us with love and kindness. We felt so honored and accepted to be a part of the family. Susan was like a mom to me, she taught me so much. She will be missed dearly. Even though we drifted apart, I always tried to support my cousin's. She loved the Hill family. She was a special lady, mother and friend to me God bless you Auntie Susan. Take your rest in God. "Mamma Hill took me in right from the start. She opened her home for dinners and board games from day 1! She made Opelika Alabama feel like home. She quickly became mama Hill to me, my wife, and eventually our newborn son Ryker. I always gave her a big hug and LOVED her sassy comments to Aretha while we all did life together. Her love lives on in my family. She showed us how to give and how to make everyone family. See you again when I get there Mamma Hill. "

When he was up, I heard "GOOOOOO THEO!!" I was so shocked because I didnt think a sound so loud could come from such a petite lady😊. Looking back at that moment, I understood how much family meant to her and how important it was for her being there, cheering the loudest for Theo making sure he knows that his loved ones are always there to support him. When she lived across the street she was definitely a strong mother figure and go to adult."
